Job description
An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to support the delivery of complex engineering and construction projects within the UK's nuclear decommissioning and waste processing programme in Whitehaven. The role involves managing commercial activities across the full project lifecycle, ensuring cost control, contract compliance and strong commercial performance within a highly regulated environment.
Who This Role Would Suit
This role would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in engineering construction, nuclear, energy or large-scale infrastructure projects. It would particularly appeal to someone confident managing NEC contracts, overseeing subcontractor packages and working closely with multidisciplinary teams while supporting the development of junior commercial staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full commercial lifecycle of engineering and construction work packages.
- Administer NEC contracts including change control and compensation events.
- Prepare applications for payment and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages through to final account settlement.
- Produce cost forecasts, financial reporting and commercial performance updates.
Requirements.
- You must hold a P4 Pass to get onto Sellafield
- Proven experience in Quantity Surveying.
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline or equivalent
- Chartered status preferred (MRICS, MCIOB)
- Previous experience on Nuclear projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC Contracts (NEC4)
Location: Whitehaven
Permanent: Full Time, 40 hrs
Salary: circa £53k - £67k (dependent on experience) + £5.7k Car Allowance
