Job description

An experienced Quality Engineer is required to support quality assurance and compliance activities on a major infrastructure project in Whitehaven. The role will help ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, quality standards and client expectations, while supporting the implementation of robust quality management systems, progressive assurance processes and effective defect management throughout the project lifecycle.

This role would suit an experienced quality professional with a background in construction, engineering or infrastructure projects. It would appeal to someone confident supporting project quality processes, assisting with audits and inspections, and working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure consistent quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan and associated assurance processes.
  • Review and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure quality documentation is completed and compliant.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality surveillance activities and support internal and external audits.
  • Identify, record and support the resolution of site non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Provide quality guidance and support to project teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer
    Previous experience within Nuclear projects
    Experience with ITPs, Quality plans, NCRs.

Location Whitehaven
Permanent Full Time, 40 hrs
Salary circa £47k - (£42k + £5k car allowance)
