• Role: Plater - Structural Steel Fabrication

• Location: Brompton-on-Swale, North Yorkshire

• Sector: Structural Steel Fabrication

• Pay & Contract:

  • £17.62 per hour PAYE

  • 12-week Temp to Perm

• Hours & Overtime:

  • Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday (40 hours)

  • Saturday overtime: 7:30am-12:30pm, paid at x1.5

• Key Responsibilities (Essential)

  • Plate structural steel (5-100mm) in a production environment

  • Carry out heat straightening and work from engineering drawings

  • Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely

  • Use grinders and consumables in line with HAVS regulations

  • Work to production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards

  • Follow HSEQ requirements and safe operating procedures

  Skills & Experience Required (Essential)

  • Time-served Plater or equivalent qualification (trade test required)

  • City & Guilds / NVQ in Structural Steel Plating

  • Experience in structural steel / heavy engineering

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and plating standards

  • Competent with overhead cranes and slinging techniques

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good health & safety awareness and ability to work under time constraints
