🔧 Plater (Backshift) - Richmond Area

We are currently recruiting experienced Platers for an immediate start in the Richmond area. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term role within a well-established structural steel environment.

📍 Role Details

• Position: Plater - Structural Steel Fabrication

• Location: Brompton-on-Swale, Richmond

💷 Pay & Contract

• Rate: £21.14 per hour (PAYE)

• Contract: Temp to Perm (12-week transfer)

• Excellent opportunity for long-term stability

⏰ Hours & Overtime

• Backshift:

  • Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm

  • Friday: 2:30pm - 8:30pm

  • Total: 40 hours per week

• Overtime (Saturday):

  • Paid at 1.5x hourly rate

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Plate structural steel (5mm-100mm) in a production environment

• Interpret and work from engineering drawings

• Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment

• Use grinders and consumables in line with HAVS regulations

✅ Skills & Experience Required

• Time-served Plater or equivalent qualification (trade test required)

• Experience within structural steel or heavy engineering

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Skilled in overhead crane use and slinging techniques
