About MBDA
MBDA was created in December 2001 after the merger of the main missile systems companies in France, Italy and the United Kingdom. It is the only European group capable of designing and producing missiles and missile systems to meet the whole range of current and future needs of the three armed forces (air, sea, land).
The company now has more than 11,500 employees, with sites and offices in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the USA and the United Kingdom.
The challenge
In 2018, Employment Solutions were approached by MBDA through their dedicated RPO as part of its drive to source a local supplier as a dedicated recruitment partner for their new manufacturing site in the North West of England.
Due to increased orders and the need to modernise the company’s new facility, demand from the company for contract blue collar engineers and manufacturing operatives had skyrocketed.
Being a global organisation, MBDA had previously depended on large corporate organisations to handle their recruitment. However, these organisations were unsuited for sourcing appropriate North West-based candidates due to their lack of knowledge in the given sector.
Our experience
Seeing Employment Solutions’ experience and relationships with other defence companies and prominent mechanical and electrical factories in North West, we were invited to tender for the business.
We quickly saw off the competition due to our outstanding values as a business, long-standing experience and reputation within the field of expertise, and strong references provided by our other clients that we have had in excess of 20 years.
The future
The relationship between MDBA and Employment Solutions began in the summer of 2018, and still flourishes to this day as we continually source and provide high-calibre engineers and manufacturing operatives to the organisation.
