Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead or Principal Electrical Engineer to contribute to major energy transition and energy security projects. The role involves the development of electrical power system designs that underpin complex process designs. I am seeking a Lead/Principal Engineer for these projects, and demonstrable experience in designing large industrial power systems is a prerequisite for the role.
This position would suit a highly experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in large-scale industrial power systems. Ideal candidates will have prior involvement in energy sector projects such as hydrogen, ammonia, LNG, or refining, and be confident working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical power system designs to support process engineering.
- Perform sizing and selection of high-voltage equipment, frequency converters, and AC/DC UPS systems.
- Produce and review engineering philosophies and technical specifications.
- Contribute to project cost estimation through input to electrical design scopes.
- Carry out or review power system studies using tools such as ETAP.

In return you'll receive a rate up to £62.00 per hour via Limited Company (role has been deemed outside of IR35).
