Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for time-served Welder/Fabricator or newly certified Welding apprentice looking to begin a career in QA/QC inspection. The role offers structured training in inspecting and verifying complex fabricated and welded components, while developing your skills in documentation, dimensional checks, and quality standards in a safety-critical environment.

Who This Job Would Suit
This position is ideal for someone with a background in fabrication or welding who is now seeking to progress into inspection and quality assurance. It suits individuals with a keen eye for detail, strong understanding of engineering drawings, and those who are either already qualified or actively working toward recognised industry certifications such as CSWIP or PCN.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and work towards PCN/CSWIP qualifications.
  • Conduct interstage and final dimensional inspections of fabrications and maintain accurate records.
  • Review route cards, engineering drawings, and process instructions to verify dimensional tolerances.
  • Audit manufacturing processes and contribute to the development and control of inspection documentation.
  • Inspect, verify and certify materials, ensuring accuracy in Lifetime Quality Record documentation.

Requirements

  • Time-served Welder or Fabricator (newly certified apprentices considered).
  • Proficient maths skills
  • CSWIP or PCN certified is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Welding process and terminology


Location: Chorley
Permanent
Pay: £30k - £40k + Benefits + Training
Working Hours: 4 day working week! Flexible Hours & Hybrid.
