Job description

A leading engineering firm in the Leatherhead area seeks a skilled Principal Instrument Engineer for an immediate 2-month project with potential for hybrid working.

This opportunity entails pivotal contributions to I&C design, budget management, automation, and network design.

This role would suit a seasoned Instrumentation and Control Engineer with extensive experience in complex engineering projects, adept at adhering to industry standards and demonstrating proficiency in designing and implementing I&C systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop preliminary and final stage I&C design deliverables.
  • Prepare budgetary requisitions and conduct bid evaluations.
  • Perform automation-related tasks, including I/O lists creation.
  • Collaborate on network and system design with the Controls Engineering team.
  • Develop key documents such as PCD Network Design Specifications and Alarm Philosophy.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in designing and implementing I&C systems.
  • Strong understanding of P&IDs, I&C
  • Experience on Offshore platform projects & Shell project awareness is highly advantageous.


In return, you'll receive an hourly rate up to £55/hr (Ltd - likely to be outside IR35) for an initial 2-month contract.
