One of our Global Clients who offer sales and support for their large comprehensive range of high quality equipment based in the Stockport area are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer / Field Service Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join our team. The role involves working within medium to heavy engineering environments, focusing on the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of equipment, particularly for cereal grains and related materials. Your expertise will support the full lifecycle of our products, including maintenance and customer service.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer with substantial experience in manufacturing or production environments, especially within the FMCG sector. The role would suit someone who is both proactive and reactive, enjoys hands-on work, and is confident in working independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance, repair, and commissioning services for engineering equipment.
- Interpret assembly and engineering drawings to facilitate installation and maintenance tasks.
- Utilise precision measuring tools, including micrometres, for accurate assessments.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and complete risk assessments (RAMS) for all on-site work.
- Travel to various sites, including overnight stays which would not be that often and could work out at 1 week per month to deliver exceptional customer service
