An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established British manufacturer of FMCG Machinery. This company supplies high-quality machines to leading food producers and other industries worldwide. As the business continues to grow, this role will focus on supporting sales engineers, managing new designs from concept to completion and ensuring compliance to industry standards.
This role would suit a mechanically-minded engineer with strong experience in machinery design, particularly within bespoke environments. It is ideal for someone proficient in 2D and 3D CAD, who enjoys creating concepts and detailed manufacturing drawings. Those who thrive in collaborative environments and are keen to work hands-on with production teams will excel in this role. This is also an opportunity to work hands-on with machinery and engage directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new machinery from concept through to detailed manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Collaborate with sales engineers and manage new projects, including customer site evaluations where necessary.
- Create and refine manufacturing drawings and ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety standards.
- Develop technical documentation, including BOMs, user manuals, and operating instructions.
- Assist the production team with hands-on support and troubleshooting during the development of new products.
In return you'll receive a base salary up to £35k depending upon experience & benefits including pension matched up to £6.5%, discretionary annual bonus, 24 days & bank holidays & an additional 3 days need to be taken during the shutdown period. Mostly site based with opportunities to work from home.
