We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department at a family run client in Wigan. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and continuous production of our plant. This permanent role which requires proactive response to equipment failures while implementing an effective preventive maintenance programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide comprehensive maintenance and electrical services to the company's process plant and designated areas, across 2 sites
• Perform maintenance and repairs on steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and other necessary plant equipment.
• Conduct maintenance and repairs on electrical plant equipment as required.
• Install chemical plant equipment, valves, pressure relief valves under the management of change.
• Test and calibrate to Quality Control specifications.
• Undertake general building and electrical maintenance repairs.
• Resolve any unplanned breakdowns in a safe and expedient manner.
• Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely acquisition of items required for scheduled shutdowns while maintaining safe working procedures.
• Immediately report any incidents to the management using the appropriate reporting systems.
• Respond promptly to required corrective and preventive actions.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by the Directors.
