Machine Tool Fitters - Nuclear contract
Job description
We have excellent contract opportunities for Machine tool fitters to work within a nuclear fabrication facility based in the West Midlands.
We offer 12 hour shifts paying £30.00 per hour (Monday to Thursday). Overtime paid at £40.00.
We also provide a lodging allowance of £50 per day for travelling contractors. (Must live over the qualifying distance)
You will be responsible for the fitting and assembly of intricate mechanical components into sub-assemblies, and the final assembly build of bespoke process plant and equipment.
Key duties include:
- Installation, fitting, stripping & correct application of bearings / keys / seals / bushes / sleeves / blocks / gears / dowelling / pegs / split pins / tab washers /seals, circlips & O-rings.
- Stamping / etching / stencilling / deburring.
- Understanding, assembling, and maintaining of mechanical drive systems
- Dismantling and strip down of sub assembly components and plant to required quality levels and standards.
- Measuring and marking out to specified drawing dimensions, while understanding and working within tolerance bands.
- Understanding and interpreting schematic and process flow drawings
- Ability to use both hand and power tools, including larger mag base, pedestal drills & grinders etc.
It is essential applicants are fully time served with a recognised apprenticeship. (City and Guilds/ NVQ or equivalent).
You must also be able to obtain a standard DBS and SC clearance. (SC cleared candidates are preferred).
Candidates with IPAF /PASMA, harness, forklift, basic slinging /signalling and lifting experience are desirable.
