Job description

We are working with the UK's leading structural steel manufacturer, whose steel is used in iconic construction projects across the UK and beyond, to recruit an experienced Fabrication Team leader.

For this role is working Monday to Thursday 7:00 am to 4.45pm and Friday 7:00am till 12.00pm, the salary is up to £38,000 per year.

You will be managing and leading a team of colleagues, communicating company goals, safety practices and deadlines to the team, whilst working closely with the Production Manager.

A big part of your role will involve motivating your team and assessing team performance. You'll also be involved in hiring new team members, as well as training new staff and existing team members.

You will also manage your area of responsibility ensuring all safety measures are being maintained and that safety instructions and safe working practices are being followed.

Delivering toolbox talks to employees and contractors as an when necessary, and ensure that all PPE is available, used and maintained by employees and keep a record of issues and maintenance where appropriate.

The position requires a candidate with the ability to show leadership, take responsibility and be assertive. The ability to plan work and set targets for the team.

Previous knowledge of working in a steel fabrication environment in a Team Leader/Supervisor position would be preferred.
