Senior UI Automation Engineer - Commutable from Manchester & Cheshire - Permanent - Excellent Salary and benefits package on offer
My Cheshire based client is currently looking to recruit a Senior UI Automation Engineer on a permanent basis!
What you'll be doing
- As a Senior UI Automation Engineer you'll be spending a majority of your time hands on in the Automation of software.
- Taking the lead on designing and implementing robust automation frameworks across the company to ensure efficient and effective quality assurance gates
- Help upskill and mentor existing team members in Automation best practises through coaching and delegation
- Assisting in curating the team backlog to ensure the team are always working on the highest priority Automation items
- The prompt prioritisation and processing by the team of incoming bugs according to strategy
- Discuss, establish and maintain the design patterns, framework selections and direction of the UI Automation
- Recognition of problems and recasting difficult-to-solve problems in order to find unique and innovative solutions
- Getting involved in recruitment and mentoring junior team members in developing their skills

What you'll need
- Demonstrable Java programming ability with in-depth understanding of underpinning techniques
- Proven ability of tackling challenging projects
- Strong mentoring capabilities
- Ability to identify process gaps and lead on technical challenges
- Demonstrable knowledge of Databases and query languages (SQL)
- Experience in full software development life cycle from design to deployment using agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum
- Object Oriented Design and Programming
- 4 years minimum experience in a professional testing role
- Practical experience of automating RESTful API's
- In depth knowledge of working with frontend frameworks such as React/Vue.js
- Proficient in HTML, Javascript and CSS
- Experience in setting up automation framework from scratch
- Extensive experience in multiple automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress
- Knowledge of Behavioural Driven Development tools such as Cucumber or similar
- Deep knowledge of the page object design pattern
- A deep understanding of DevOps and continuous delivery tools such as Jenkins Docker or similar
- Testing in a fast paced Agile environments making use of continuous integration
Nice to haves
- 2:1 degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or similar technical degree
- Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure knowledge
- Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, JUnit, GWT, Maven, Jenkins, Linux, Scripting for CLI, CICD, tool automation, Selenium, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, etc
