Nuclear waste is a complicated issue. It doesn't burn off and it can't be left to the side to deal with at a convenient time. The impact can be immediate and, if not treated correctly, very dangerous.
This is where specialists are required. A company who specialises in containing such waste products, and have the individuals with the knowhow and ability to follow through on their expertise with practical solutions.
Our client is one of these specialists, well known in their industry and are assigned to some of the most sensitive sites in the UK. Not only do they understand problems and how to solve them, they understand the paperwork and processes that follow such projects, making their operative lives simpler and more efficient.
To that end, due to more projects being won all the time, they are currently looking for a design engineer with excellent understanding of the Nuclear industry, and the processes involved, to work with them on the design of waste storage. You'll have experience working with Solidworks, or another 3D design package, and a strong knowledge of design techniques revolving around Radiological Protection and Radioactive Waste Management.
In return, you'll be on a long term project. The role is expected to fall outside IR35 (subject to SDS) and pays approx. £40/hr ltd.
