Our client has sister companies in the USA and China, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Production Engineer who is keen on getting out there a couple of times a year to work with them on their lean principles.

The rest of the year will have a varied look to it, taking turns between milling and turning creating programmes using FeatureCAM and producing CAD drawings.

In return, you'll receive a competitive salary of up to £36,000, a pension contribution of up to 6%, a company health plan and 25 holidays.

Production Engineer

At Precision Components Ltd we are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Production Engineer, someone who is keen to make an impact and assist in streamlining our manufacturing processes in our three cells (UK, China, and USA).

You will be joining a company that is classed as a world leader in the manufacture and supply of high precision compressor rotors, supplying to customers across the globe.

Production Engineer Responsibilities:

* Ensuring all pre-production activities are carried out successfully, and in a time conscious manner to meet production delivery deadlines, * Writing machine programmes and identifying tooling requirements, * Leading feasibility reviews for new components and determining the best manufacturing methods, * Driving improvements in production processes through proven methodology and the involvement of stakeholders, * Supporting Sales by creating accurate BoMs using MRP system (Epicor), * Creating programmes using FeatureCAM for CNC Lathes, HMC and VMC, * Producing CAD stage drawings using Solid Edge.

Production Engineer Requirements:

* You will be qualified to HNC/HND level or above in mechanical engineering, with substantial manufacturing experience in Milling, Turning and Grinding (metal cutting), * Familiar with Lean manufacturing techniques and possess the drive and tenacity to introduce improvements, * Ideally you will have previously worked for a manufacturing business producing components of tight tolerances and supported the whole production process from quotation to delivery, * A strong advantage would be experience of working with an MRP system, * You will have familiarity with machine controls preferably Fanuc and Okuma, * You must have previous experience of producing stage drawing or similar, and be a proficient user of CAD packages such a Solid Edge (2019). * Willingness to travel abroad to support our sister companies in China and America.
