Controls Engineer - Derbyshire based - Salary circa £40,000 per annum

My Derbyshire based client are looking to bring in a Controls Engineer to provide technical expertise within automated control system design & fault diagnosis.
You'll also have a proficient understanding of Siemens programming languages STL, FBD, Ladder and HMI development. Knowledge of Mitsubishi PLC's and machine vision systems (Keyence / Cognex) also desirable.
You'll also be providing technical support to quickly and accurately diagnose Electrical/Electronic faults within production equipment using appropriate fault-finding techniques such as half-split, input-output, function testing etc.
Also supporting a variety of automation equipment, such as, Siemens PLC's - Simatic Manager & TIA Portal, Siemens HMI's - Pro-Tool & WinCC, Mitsubishi PLC's - GX Developer, Intel MCS-51 (8051) - Assembly and PLM code, and various Logic Relays - Keyence/Omron/Siemens.
As well as monitoring and maintain machine vision systems, such as, Keyence and DVT/Cognex.
Designing and building Siemens PLC & HMI programs should be a real passion for you, as well as designing Electrical schematics using CAD and applying good drawing standards to easily identify and locate components.
You will be comfortable working within tight deadlines, reporting progress regularly and adapting to changing situations.
You'll be keen to stay on top of what is happening in the controls market and where control systems are at risk of becoming obsolete advise on suitable alternatives and provide action plan.
Other nice to haves for this role are an understanding & competence in relational database design and VB/VBA programming, experience of design and monitor power distribution sources, and the capability to ensure that all testing and inspection is completed within the required time period.
Ideally you will be able to oversee the building HVAC system, adjust system settings and support service engineers, and provide technical assistance in completion of machine Risk Assessments.
