CMM Programmer, Permanent position, Salary dependent on experience.
Day shift - Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4pm, Fri 7:30-1pm
Established for over 45 years, Our Client is seeking a highly skilled & experienced CNC/CMM Programmer.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and forward thinking subcontract manufacturing company which services many industries including Motorsport, F1 and supporting the rapidly growing electric car market.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for programming their Mitutoyo CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines in addition to other key inspection equipment, such as their , FARO Arm and 2D FabriVISION laser inspection machine.
The Role is to Produce & prove-out advanced CNC Mitutoyo CMM Programs from 2D Drawings and 3D CAD models which are efficient and operator friendly to use in production.
Program other inspection equipment such as our Keyence, FARO Arm and FabriVISION
Inspect using hand measuring equipment such as height gauges, vernier callipers and micrometres
Setup and produce required documentation including FAIR's / ISIR's, SPC reports
Contribute towards and oversee the design and production of any required CMM or inspection fixturing making full use of our in-house 3D printer
Work alongside the Production and Quality team to ascertain key requirements and priorities Communicate accurately to operators, section leaders and the quality department any deviations to customer drawings or specifications
Assist in evaluating and improving current CNC manufacturing processes by applying expert knowledge to reduce scrap and improve internal and external quality levels
Establish quality procedures and develop/train operators to ensure the improved manufacturing and inspection process is maintained
Keep updated and continually research the very latest measuring technology, techniques, probing systems, fixturing strategies
Provide support to the Quality department and Production as required including operation first off approval, first article inspection reporting, investigation and problem solving and process auditing
The Person / Skills Required The successful candidate will ideally have had a proven background in CNC machining, preferably having served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
It is likely that they will have spent time as a CNC Programmer / Setter and then moved into a Quality based role.
Have an excellent understanding of technical engineering drawings, GD&T, FAIR's / ISIR's, SPC, Gauge R&R & 8D Reporting
Experience of programming and operating Mitutoyo MCOSMOS
Experience of other Inspection Software and Systems, Measurlink SPC, FARO CAM2, Keyence IM & FabriVISION (Training will be provided as required)
Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Collaborate in a team environment to continuously improve ways and working
Work flexibly and efficiently as part of the manufacturing team and to support other team members as required, comply with all quality, health & safety and environmental rules and policies
