The UK's construction industry is experiencing a period of strong growth following a downturn during the recession. Comprising over 280,000 businesses and 2.93 million jobs it is one of the largest sectors of the UK economy, contributing more than £90 billion.

The biggest driver of growth in house building due to accelerating house prices, low-interest rates and strong demand. The commercial property sector, which faced near collapse following the financial crisis, is also recovering with recent increases in activity.

It is now more important than ever that businesses in the sector focus on developing and investing in workforce talent to capitalise on fresh opportunities. New orders and increased workloads are encouraging companies to take on workers at the fastest rate for a decade.
